The Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Clinic at Asian Hospital is a specialized hub designed to tackle a group of over 200 rare lung disorders characterized by chronic inflammation and irreversible scarring (fibrosis). Because ILD symptoms like dry cough and shortness of breath often mimic more common conditions like asthma or COPD, this clinic serves as a critical "diagnostic filter" to ensure patients receive the correct, life-altering diagnosis early.  

Comprehensive Care Pathways

Beyond medication, the ILD Clinic integrates long-term supportive services through the Asian Institute of Respirology (AIR):  

  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Supervised exercise programs that train the body to use oxygen more efficiently, reducing the feeling of breathlessness.  
  • Oxygen Therapy: Coordination for patients who require supplemental oxygen to maintain active lifestyles.
  • Specialized Education: Counseling for patients and families to manage the psychological and lifestyle impacts of a chronic, rare disease.
  • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
  •  6-Minute Walk Test, which may be grouped together with Pulmonary Rehabilitation
  • Lung Imaging (High-Resolution CT Scan) under the Radiology Department.
  • ILD medication access through Chrys Pharmacy.
