Patient Preparation Guidelines

 1. Fasting of at least 4 hours before the procedure. Fasting beyond 4 hours is okay and you make take your maintenance medication/s if any except metformin.

2. Creatinine blood test results that are within a 30 day validity is required; if creatinine and egfr values are not within normal range, immediately call us if we would require a clearance from Attending Physician or Nephrologist.

* This will be the basis if the contrast procedure will be done or not.

3. If the patient is diabetic and is taking Metformin drugs, the patient must stop taking on the day of the procedure and may resume taking Metformin 48 hours after the procedure.

4. If the patient has any history of allergy to food, medicine, latex gloves, asthma, dust and/or allergic rhinitis; patient has to purchase two (2) tablets of oral Prednisone 30 mg each. Take the 1st tablet 12 hours before procedure and 2nd tablet 2 hours prior the procedure.

For preparations # 3 & 4, kindly disregard if not applicable.

Information to Patient:

1.  Procedure will take more or less 60 minutes per part.

2. Bring the Doctor's request on the day of your procedure.

3. Bring all relevant outside films and results with you on the day of your procedure. A comparison fee will be charged if the appropriate previous images and results are not provided.

4. Kindly call for confirmation for any change/s in the schedule.

5. Process your bill/payment ahead of your schedule. You are highly encouraged to arrive 60 minutes. before your scheduled procedure.

6. Weight limit: should not exceed 227 kilograms.

7. Body width limit: shoulder to shoulder measurement should not be more than 75 cm.

8. If patient’s weight is above 160 Kilograms, the patient’s width measuring from shoulder to shoulder must not be greater than 75 centimeters for space allowance to avoid physical injury during scanning
