The TB DOTS Center at Asian Hospital and Medical Center is a dedicated facility providing comprehensive services for the screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of tuberculosis patients. Officially launched on October 4, 2024, the center represents a significant institutional commitment to addressing one of the most persistent public health challenges in the Philippines — bringing specialized, supervised TB care into the setting of a JCI-accredited tertiary hospital.

The center operates in alignment with the World Health Organization's End TB Strategy and the globally recognized Directly Observed Treatment, Short-Course (DOTS) approach — a method built on the principle that TB treatment outcomes are substantially improved when healthcare providers directly observe patients taking their medications, provide consistent follow-up, and deliver education to reinforce adherence to the prescribed treatment protocol. This supervised care model is critical not only for improving individual patient outcomes but also for preventing the development of drug-resistant TB strains, which pose a significantly greater clinical and public health challenge.

The establishment of the center reflects a deliberate alignment between Asian Hospital and Medical Center and both national and global efforts to reduce the TB burden. Its launch was attended by representatives from the Muntinlupa City Health Department and officials from the Department of Health — a collaboration that underscores the center's role not merely as a hospital service, but as an active participant in the broader public health response to tuberculosis in the region.
