The Department of Psychiatry delivers comprehensive, evidence-based, and compassionate mental health care as an innovative psychiatry department in the Philippines. DEPARTMENT SECTIONS

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders in youths. We uniquely integrate medical, psychological, and behavioral perspectives to support the long-term well-being of children, adolescents, and their families. Our team collaborates with general pediatrics, pediatric subspecialties, emergency medicine, schools and allied mental health professionals to deliver developmentally informed, family-centered, and individualized care plans.

Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry

Also known as psychosomatic medicine, the Section of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry provides expert psychiatric assessment and management to patients across medical and surgical services, including specialized support for transplant and oncology care. We work at the interface of physical and mental health to optimize medical outcomes, enhance patient safety, and support complex decision-making for medically ill patients and their families.

Psychology

The Section of Psychology is composed of a team of qualified and skilled licensed clinical psychologists – experts in human behavior, thinking, and emotions – dedicated to helping clients of all ages manage their mental health issues and improve their psychological well-being. Our interventions complement psychiatric management by focusing on non-medication approaches that promote lasting change, resilience, and emotional growth.

We provide comprehensive services including assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychological treatment of behavioral, emotional, and psychological disorders. We work closely with clients and their families to help them make meaningful, sustainable changes and respond promptly to referrals from medical specialists, allied mental health professionals, teachers, school administrators.

Psychological consultation to address the client’s presenting problems and to guide the next course of action

Psychological evaluation to determine areas of functioning (e.g., cognitive, intellectual, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral), areas of strength or deficits, clinical syndrome, or neurodevelopmental disorders – presented in a detailed report that includes case history, test results, scores, interpretation, summary of findings, and recommendations.

Individual psychotherapy to help the client identify and explore their concerns and develop effective strategies.

Couples therapy for couples to address relationship problems and build healthier partnerships.

Family therapy that treats the family as a system or a unit to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and foster a supportive home environment.

Play therapy utilizes play to help children better understand their experiences and develop effective coping strategies

CLINICAL SERVICES OF PSYCHIATRY

Mind Wellness Center
The Mind Wellness Center is an outpatient center for psychiatry and psychology that offers comprehensive, patient‑centered mental health care. Inspired by the wrap-around care model, it provides integrated, multidisciplinary support in a calm and welcoming environment. Services include comprehensive assessments, psychotherapy, medication management, and coordinated care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. The center also accepts referrals from other mental health professionals, primary care, and other specialties, and offers consultations for continuity of care. Our specialist in psychopharmacology, bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders provides assessment, diagnosis and management of complex mood disorders requiring advanced pharmacological evaluation. The center also provides lectures and seminars that promote wellness in various settings.

Esketamine Care Center
This specialized center provides esketamine nasal spray therapy under close medical supervision for adults with treatment-resistant depression or major depressive disorder with acute suicidal ideation. It is unique in offering 24/7 availability for greater accessibility and flexibility. The center provides personalized monitoring to ensure safe administration and rapid relief of symptoms.

The Depot Clinic
Dedicated to administering long-acting injectable (depot) medications for patients with conditions such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, this clinic improves treatment adherence and convenience by providing scheduled, professionally administered injections in a comfortable outpatient setting. It helps patients achieve medication stability and better long-term outcomes.

Sport Psychology Clinic
This is the first Sport Psychology Clinic in the Philippines. It specializes in the mental and emotional aspects of athletic performance. It supports athletes, coaches, and sports teams with performance enhancement, stress management, injury recovery, mental resilience training, team building, career transition counseling, and more through evidence-based sport psychology techniques. Services are offered on an outpatient and onsite basis (e.g., schools, arenas). The clinic also provides lectures and seminars to promote wellness for athletes and sports organizations. Led by a Sport Psychologist with expertise in performance psychology, it serves youth, collegiate, elite, and professional levels.

Insomnia Recovery Clinic
The Philippines’ first dedicated clinic for insomnia recovery, it offers specialized psychotherapy and behavioral interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), to help patients achieve lasting, drug-free sleep restoration. The clinic offers lectures and seminars on sleep hygiene to promote regulation of sleep-wake cycle.
