Asian Hospital and Medical Center SPECT-CT technology gives a clearer picture of health

Asian Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC) proudly announced the successful launch of its new SPECT-CT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography-Computed Tomography) imaging technology.  This state-of-the-art system is set to revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of patients by providing medical professionals with more precise images to help them diagnose and treat conditions more efficiently.

With the introduction of SPECT-CT, the hospital enhanced its diagnostic capabilities, allowing for more accurate and comprehensive imaging. This will ultimately improve patient care, offering faster, more targeted treatments based on clearer imaging results.

While many imaging tests show what the internal organs look like, a SPECT-CT scan shows how well the organs are working. It also helps to diagnose or monitor brain and bone disorders, and heart problems. It can show how well blood flows to the heart, what sections of the brain are more active or less active, or what parts of the bone are affected by cancer.

AHMC leaders and health care professionals attended the launch, titled, “SPECT-CT Because Clearer Imaging Means Better Care”. It featured a scientific forum where Dr. Robert Tan-Gatue, Head of Nuclear Medicine Services, introduced four speakers who discussed the various applications of SPECT-CT—nuclear medicine physicians Dr. Miguel Antonio Catangui, Dr. Emelyn De Jesus, and Dr. Eddie Lim. Molecular imaging business leader Peter Peralta presented discussions on SPECT-CT.

This acquisition of the latest advancements in medical imaging is part of Asian Hospital and Medical Center’s commitment to continuing its mission to provide the best possible patient care.
