With an increasing Filipino life expectancy, it is indeed high time to get into a healthy lifestyle, to better enjoy the fruits of our labors. The most important step to a healthier you is improving your physical fitness – that is, getting into exercise and other physical activities to help you get fit and stay fit.

To help you understand what exercise best fits you and how it will help you gain a fit and healthy body, the Asian Hospital and Medical Center will hold "Exercise for the Young and Young-At-Heart,” a free lay forum to be held on May 29, 2010, from 6 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Conference Facility Unit of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center.

During the forum, experts from the hospital's Department of Orthopedics will let participants in on the benefits of Pilates and Running, as well as the advantages of unconventional exercise routines like dancing. The symposium will also tackle the importance of exercise for injury prevention and the right nutrition to complement physical performance.

A free Pilates session with breakfast will be held at 6:30 a.m. for the first 20 on-site registrants. Those who are interested should bring an exercise mat and comfortable clothes for the session. A free lunch will also be offered to the first 50 on-site registrants of the symposium. New Balance will also be participating in the event, offering gait analysis & top-of-the-line running gear at discounted prices.
