| In celebration of the National Heart Month this February, the Asian Hospital and Medical Center has lined up exciting activities to be held from February 19 to 22, 2009, highlighted by live demonstrations on new heart surgery techniques, the first to be conducted in the Philippines. |

On February 19, the first day of the celebrations, a lay symposium will be held, featuring heart specialists who will discuss the risk of developing of heart disease, signs and symptoms, prevention and importance of healthy lifestyle to lessen risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. After the discussions, an open forum will be held to give participants a chance to ask the speakers about their personal concerns on heart diseases. |
On February 20, the second day of the celebrations, a lecture for medical practitioners will be conducted featuring updates on management of coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction, and new therapy procedure in acute coronary syndromes. Highlighting the medical lecture are the live demonstrations on Mitral Valve Repair or Replacement and MAZE Procedure as well as new techniques to be introduced from the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. |
In the evening, Asian Hospital and Medical Center celebrates the launch of Channel 98, its local channel that will feature health topics and hospital-related news for patients and guests. The affair will also introduce to guests the Patient Satisfaction Survey project, where for every filled-up survey form by patients, Asian Hospital will give P50 to Asian Hospital Charities, Inc. |
Culminating the National Heart Month celebrations of Asian Hospital and Medical Center is a fun run dubbed “RUNew” which starts at 5:30 a.m. at the McKinley Hill in Taguig City. The fun run will gather doctors and health enthusiasts alike to celebrate a healthy lifestyle to prevent heart diseases. Proceeds of the event will be donated to the Asian Hospital Charities, Inc. |
