Admissions

We know that choosing a hospital for yourself and your family is always a matter of trust and confidence. You want to be assured that the facilities and services you may require are available and the staff—from your doctors to the nurses, paramedical and other support personnel—is competent, accommodating, and capable of giving you the quality of care that you deserve.

Arrangement for Admission

For non-emergency cases, arrangement for admission to Asian Hospital and Medical Center is made during a patient’s appointment with the doctor at our Medical Office Building. You will be asked to complete a Pre-admitting Record, which will be forwarded to the Admissions Department. Upon receipt of the Pre-admitting Record, the admitting staff will pre-register or update the data in preparation for your admission. The Doctor’s Office will advise you of the day and time of your admission. Please report to Guest Services located at the main lobby. You will be directed to the Admissions Office. The Admitting Personnel will verify your details and prepare your admission. Once completed, Guest Services staff will escort you to your room.

In the event of an emergency, admission to Asian Hospital and Medical Center is arranged through the Emergency Room.

Admission of foreign patients is arranged through the International Health Service (IHS).

During admission, please inform our Admitting Staff if you plan to use your HMO, health insurance, or corporate credit line to pay for your hospitalization. Our staff will inform you if your particular HMO, health insurance company, or employer has an existing direct billing arrangement with the hospital. Kindly ensure that your HMO, health insurance, or employer will submit a Letter of Authorization/Guarantee to the hospital.

Deposits

A deposit equivalent to 50% of the estimated financial responsibility of each individual patient will be collected prior to admission for an inpatient stay.

For outpatient surgery, outpatient special procedure, and packages, a deposit of 100% of the estimated cost of the operation or procedure is required.

If you have a local third party insurance, or overseas insurance covered by a contract between the hospital and insurance company, you will be required to pay the estimated co-pay and deductibles in accordance with your third party policy.

Should you have an outstanding balance from past accounts, you will be required to pay the outstanding balance and 50% of the estimated financial responsibility for the current admission.

All financial interactions will be deferred for any patient in critical condition until his or her condition is stabilized.

Patients who do not have a residence in the Philippines are required to deposit 100% of their estimated financial responsibility.

For Surgical Patients

Patients scheduled to undergo surgery must follow the following Pre-Operative Anesthesia Instructions:

Fasting for a certain period prior to the operation is required. Adults should not eat or drink anything from six hours before surgery. For children aged 2-6, the fasting period is four hours; for newborns and those aged up to two years, two hours. However, patients may take morning medications (e.g. antihypertensive, anti-angina) with very little sips of water.

Inpatient Surgery

You will be admitted not later than 8:00pm on the night prior to the day of the operation.

Outpatient Surgery


Be at the hospital at least two hours before the scheduled operation and bring your pre-anesthetic evaluation form, lab results, chest x-ray results, clearance forms from other doctors, history/PE forms completed by surgeons, and Surgeon’s order sheet. You have to register at the admission office and secure your Admitting Record and Wristband label. Please bring along a companion who can take you home after the procedure.

For Maternity Patients

For normal delivery, please proceed to Genesis Center at the Third Level.

For caesarian procedure, proceed to Admissions Department 6-10 hours before the scheduled operation. Upon completion of the pre-admitting record, the Guest Services staff will escort you to your room. The Genesis Center will be advised that you have checked in. One hour before the scheduled caesarian procedure, you will be brought to the Genesis Center.

You may proceed directly to the Genesis Center if you are experiencing labor pains or your doctor requested that you undergo fetal monitoring and none stress test.

For Executive Check-Up

For inpatient services, please report to Guest Services at the main lobby. The Guest Services staff will escort you to your room.

Wrist Identification Band

For your safety and facilitation purposes, you will be issued a wristband stating your name, the name of your attending doctor, hospital number, room number, date of birth, and date of admission. Wear it at all times while in the hospital.

Consent Form

By admitting yourself to the hospital, you have given tacit agreement to undergo general treatment which may be required for your condition. Certain procedures would require your specific written consent.

Equipment

Bringing household equipment in the hospital is not allowed. (e.g. electric fan, kitchen equipment)

Valuables

Do not bring your valuables to the hospital. If you do have valuables with you, you are required to deposit them in the hospital vault. The hospital will not be responsible for lost or stolen items that are not deposited in the hospital vault. For inquiries, please call the Admissions Department at ext. 8147 or 8148.

No Smoking

Pursuant to City Ordinance no. 99-046 of the City of Muntinlupa, smoking is strictly prohibited within the building and external property line of Asian Hospital and Medical Center. Violation of the “No Smoking” ordinance will result in a fine ranging from Php 200 to Php1,000 and/or imprisonment of 1 to 7 days.

Transfer of Patient to ICU

Should there be a need to transfer you from a private room to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the ICU rate shall be applied on the day you are transferred.

PRIVILEGES LOYALTY CARD

Privileges Loyalty Card entitles the cardholder to 20% discount on applicable Outpatient Services. The Privileges Loyalty Card does not cover Inpatient Services and Emergency Room Services. For more details, please call Guest Services at ext. 8100 and 8200.

DURING YOUR STAY

Nurse Call Bell

A call bell is attached to your bed panel so you can easily call the nursing staff if you need assistance.

Room Temperature

To request for change of room temperature, call our Plant Operations Department at ext. 8069.

Private Duty Nurse (PDN)

Private Duty Nurses are carefully screened and trained to provide personal general care to clients both in the home and hospital setting, seven days a week and 24 hours a day. For inquiries, please call the nurse station.

Food Service

All meals are specially planned by our dietitians to provide a balanced nutritional intake and to meet your medical requirements. Special diets are also available if you need specific diet control or have special therapeutic needs. To arrange for a consultation with one of our dietitians, call our Clinical Nutrition Department at ext. 8044 or 8047.

Visiting Policy

Children below 7 years of age are discouraged from visiting the patient floors.

For control purposes and to prevent infection, patients confined in special units such as the Genesis (Birthing rooms), Intensive Care Units and Post Anesthesia Care Units / Recovery Rooms, are allowed to have only one visitor at any given time. Bringing of pillows and blankets is not allowed.

For private rooms, a patient may have a maximum of two family members during the night. For semi-private and ward, only one family member/watcher may stay.

Pets are not allowed.

Bringing of liquor/alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.

Firearms are not allowed.

Visiting hours:
6:00 am to 9:00 pm only

For patients confined in the ICU:
9:00 am to 12:00 noon and
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Patient Companion / Watcher

For private rooms, you can have a maximum of two family members during the night. For semi-private & ward, only one family member may stay.

Housekeeping

Our housekeepers will clean your room daily. We also encourage staff and visitors to practice waste segregation. For your convenience, amenities will be provided but please be reminded that they are not souvenirs. Should you wish to bring them home, please contact the Housekeeping Department at ext. 8028 for a fresh set and proper charging to your account.

Security

Asian Hospital and Medical Center has implemented strict security measures within the hospital premises. We request your cooperation in ensuring the safety and security of everyone:

a. Guards are stationed at strategic entry points to provide assistance and guidance to you, your family and guests. As a security measure, all guests are screened for identification.

b. Hospital patients and hotel guests in Metro Manila occasionally receive prank calls. Asian Hospital and Medical Center has taken precautions to prevent such incidents. All calls are screened for the protection of the patients and their relatives. If you receive a prank call, inform our Security or Guest Services immediately.

c. Transact business only with authorized employees wearing proper hospital identification.

d. We also have an active Infant Protection Plan in place to ensure the safety of infants confined at Asian Hospital and Medical Center. For more information regarding the Infant Protection Plan, please inquire from the attending nurses.

Vigilance, awareness and speedy communication with hospital authorities for assistance remain the best safety measures. Let us join hands in ensuring everyone’s safety and security at Asian Hospital and Medical Center.

Automated Teller Machines (ATM)

Automated Teller Machines (ATM) are located at the entrance of the Outpatient Department located at the lower ground level of the Medical Office Building and beside the Transportation Services Department located at the front driveway, upper ground level of the hospital.

GOING HOME

Check Out Time

The hospital’s check-out time is 11:00 am. For check-outs after 11:00 am but before 5:00 pm, an additional half-day’s rate will be charged. For check-outs after 5:00 pm, an additional one-day rate will be charged.

Discharge

The attending physician will complete your discharge order after which the nurse in charge will forward both the discharge order and discharge summary to the Billing Associate.

The Billing Associate will generate your hospital bill. Any discounts will be deducted from the total hospital bill upon submission of complete requirements. The Billing Associate will forward the billing statement to the Cashier, who will advise you when the bill is ready for payment. Upon settlement of the bill, the Cashier will issue a clearance. Give this clearance to the nurse station and to the Guest Service associate or Security guard.

Billing

Bills may be settled prior to discharge at the Cashier located at the upper ground floor. The Cashier may be reached at ext. 8176, 8179 or 8180.

For settlement of financial matters, please proceed to the Business Office located at the upper ground floor.

If your hospitalization will be paid for by your employer or if it falls under the coverage of your health insurance plan or HMO health plan, you will acknowledge the hospital’s Billing Statement and the doctors’ professional fee.

All major credit cards are accepted (Amex, Visa, Mastercard, Diners, JCB, RCBC).

Senior citizens with valid OSCA cards are entitled to discounts upon presentation of the card at the time of admission. Should you avail of this, no other discount will apply.

Asian Hospital is accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth).

Copies of the Claim Forms are available at the Admission area.
