Vascular

Under
the Department of Radiology is the Vascular and Interventional
Radiology Service. This specialized unit utilizes state-of-the-art
imaging techniques including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed
tomography (CT scans), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
to guide vascular and interventional radiologists in placing
needles, catheters, and devices directly to target sites
deep within the patient’s body through a small skin
incision. These procedures are often performed under local
anesthesia with intravenous sedation and typically do not
require general anesthesia.
