Department of Orthopedic Surgery provides diagnosis, treatment,
rehabilitation, and prevention of injuries and diseases
of the body’s musculoskeletal system, including bones,
joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. It offers
other orthopedic treatments, such as medical consultations,
medications, casts, splints, and therapies such as exercise,
or surgery.
The
department is committed to providing the highest standard
of orthopedic care. It aims to become the leading center
for joint replacement (arthroplasty), arthroscopy and spine
surgery in the country and the Asia-Pacific region.
The
Joint Replacement Service provides patients
a comprehensive approach to joint replacement surgery—from
diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and recovery.
Its internationally-trained orthopedic surgeons work as
a team with anesthesiologists and physical therapists to
guarantee optimum joint replacement results and the highest
quality of pain management. The Joint Replacement Service
offers a wide variety of surgical procedures, from simple
arthroscopy to joint-preserving surgery to total joint replacement
of the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow.
Arthroplasty
is surgical replacement of damaged or diseased joint with
prosthetic joint or joint components.
