of highly skilled neurosurgeons, neurologists, and radiologists.
The
Department offers the following services:
•
Comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and medical,
pre-surgical, and post-surgical management of pediatric
and adult patients with disorders of the brain, spinal cord,
peripheral nerves, and muscles.
• Neurosurgery services
• Occupational and physical therapy
• Rehabilitation services
• Electroencephalography (EEG) and Electromyography
(EMG) testing
The
Department of Neuroscience has been performing a minimally
invasive, safe and effective procedure to treat life-threatening
aneurysms (Endovascular Coiling) for years with excellent
results. An aneurysm is one of the most dreaded diseases
of the brain. An aneurysm is a congenital (present at birth)
weak point in the wall of the brain’s artery that
may bulge outwards, rupture and bleed, causing a potentially
fatal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Previously, the only treatment
available for aneurysms was open-brain surgery.
