Asian
Hospital’s derma center offers cutting-edge laser and light
technology
Now,
women – and even men – with dermatological problems
have a fast, safe and effective way to treat their conditions without
going under the knife with the Dermatology Laser and Light Center
at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center, which offers non-surgical
procedures using the latest in laser and light technology.
According
to Dr. Filomena Legarda-Montinola, Chair of the Department of Dermatology
at Asian Hospital and Medical Center, people these days don’t
want to go through the hassles and pains of surgery, particularly
the downtime that it entails. “With our cutting-edge laser
and light technology, people with cosmetic and pathological dermatologic
conditions can now undergo non-invasive procedures that only take
less than hour with little to no downtime – which means, the
patient can go about his activities even after the procedure.”
For
those who are bothered by unwanted hair, there’s the Light
Sheer Diode Laser, which safely and effectively permanently reduces
hair growth on almost any skin tone or hair type. Its sapphire head
safely removes body hair – whether fine or course –
around the lips, abdomen, underarms, legs and any other area where
hair is unwanted. It also has a patented cooling device that makes
the procedure quick and comfortable, with no risk of developing
pigmentation. This device is also very compatible with the Filipino
skin, and only entails five to six sessions to permanently remove
unwanted hair.
The center also offers non-surgical face lifts through the Polaris
WR, which uses the ELOS or Electro-Optical Synergy technology –
a combination of optical energy and electrical energy. This wonderful
non-ablative technology stimulates collagen synthesis and remodeling
thus improving facial, wrinkles, smoker’s lines, skin sagging
and ugly acne scars.
“The Polaris WR works by producing pulses to produce skin
stimulation and promote collagen production to tighten the skin
and make it suppler and younger. Just five to six sessions, the
patient would already see a visible change,” explained Dr.
Montinola.
