Asian
Hospital to hold symposium on
athletic team management
The
Asian Hospital and Medical Center Department of Orthopedic Surgery
is slated to conduct the “Issues in Athletic Team Management
Part 2” symposium on February 17, 4 p.m., to be held at the
Division I Multi-purpose Hall, De La Salle Zobel, University Avenue,
Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa.
The
symposium will be attended by medical experts in field of orthopedic
surgery and sports medicine who will share their knowledge and up-to-date
treatment procedures in sports injuries and field emergencies. It
will also feature actual demonstrations and hands-on training for
the participants.
Topics
to be discussed are “Conditioning for the Prevention and Treatment
of Sports Injuries” by Dr. Ambrosio Valdez; “On-Field
Evaluation” by Dr. Jay Suntay; “Splinting and First-Aid
for On-Field Emergencies” by Dr. Manny Pecson; “Role
of Sports Psychology in Team Building” by Dr. Naira Orbeta;
“The Role of the Trainer” by Chris Bond; and “CPR
and On-Field Emergencies” by Dr. Lourdes Jimeno.
The
symposium is open to the public with a registration fee of P600.
