Electroencephalography (EEG) Laboratory

An EEG (electroencephalogram) is a non-invasive, totally painless test that detects and records electrical impulses in the brain (brain waves) produced by billions of nerve cells. It provides vital information about the health and function of the brain. During an EEG, electrodes are attached to the patient’s scalp to record brain waves.

When is an EEG indicated?

State-of-the-art equipment

Asian Hospital and Medical Center has a state-of-the-art digital, 32-channel EEG Machine that provides reliable and accurate results.

We will soon acquire Long-Term Video-EEG Monitoring capability to assist our epilepsy specialists in diagnosing and treating adult and pediatric patients with seizures, spells, or poorly-controlled epilepsy. Polysomnograms (PSG) or sleep studies will also be available soon to diagnose excessive fatigue, sleepiness, snoring, or restless sleep.

The EEG Laboratory is located at the Lower Ground Level and operates from 8 am to 5pm on Mondays and Fridays; 8 am to 6pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays.
