Simply Maternal Classes: Understanding birthing to parenting

One of the most thrilling moments of parenting is when a couple is expecting the birth of their firstborn. To help make this joyful event more memorable, the Asian Hospital and Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Department of Pediatrics offers a series of lectures that will take expectant parents through the birthing process.

Designed and conducted by the OB-GYN and PEDIA team, the lectures are divided into two half-day sessions. The classes are conducted every other month (3rd and 4th Saturday) in the Training Room of the hospital.

The first session tackles pre-natal care, pre-birth parenting, the stages of labor and delivery, anesthesia, and the birthing process itself. The second session is a discussion on the newborn child, including newborn care, breastfeeding, child immunization.
