Genesis (Birthing) Center and Huggery: A New Birthing Experience

Upon admission to Asian Hospital and Medical Center, you will undergo an examination to determine how soon before your baby is born, among other things. Should extra treatment to aid delivery is required or if you request for an anesthetic, you will be brought to the birthing room where proper monitoring and medication are available.

Unlike the clinical and sometimes harried atmosphere in a usual hospital delivery room, the birthing room at the Genesis Center has a homey ambience. Your family can visit you at the birthing room before you give birth. The room has cable TV and a fully stocked toilet and bath.

When you are ready to deliver, your partner or any one of your relatives or friends can stay by your side to lend support. You don’t have to move to a delivery room—the cozy corner where you, your partner and other family members bonded becomes your delivery room. The birthing bed has special stirrups where you can comfortably place your feet and legs as you give birth. If you want to give birth in warm water, one of the Genesis Center’s birthing rooms has a special bathtub designed for this purpose.

In the Huggery (nursery), pediatricians will evaluate the condition of your newborn. The Huggery is equipped with a state-of-the-art baby warmer with built-in emergency equipment on standby to ensure your baby gets the care he needs during the first few critical minutes of his or her life.

For about an hour after you deliver your baby, doctors and nurses will monitor your health. You can use your recovery time to bathe your baby and spend some bonding time with him or her.

Once your doctors are sure that your delivery has gone well, you will be brought to your own private room to rest and recuperate. There, surrounded by loving family, friends and your baby, you can contemplate on your new life as a mother.
